MLB Extra Innings

Would like to know if they intend to offer a MLB Extra Innings for Directv Stream.  I cannot have Satelite at my apartment.

You can just buy it thru the MLB tv app.

The extension is a new feature and may have some issues and is automatic. There are no settings.

I'm wondering the same thing, and this was one of the top google results. But it doesn't answer the question. Is there an official DirecTV Stream page/link that gives info on this. I've searched everywhere and can't find one.

thanks!

MLB extra innings is not available thru Dtv stream. You can subscribe to it on the MLB tv app. It's also available thru Amazon Prime Video channels.

@Ludwick577 Thanks for clarifying. There's a lot of incorrect info out there!

Thinking of switching from DirectTV satellite to streaming, but my husband has to have MLB Extra Innings programming. We don't have a Smart TV but if we join DirectTV streaming, will the receiver they give us enable us to access Amazon Prime Video channels?

The Dtv Stream box has google play store--you can download Amazon prime app and access Prime Video Channels.

Technically, you subscribe to MLB.TV, which is basically the same thing as Extra Innings (depending on the subscription, all out-of-market games) for people without cable or satellite.  It is accessed as a separate app rather than being channels within the streaming service itself, but I believe MLB offers versions of the app for all the devices that run the DirecTV Stream app (specifically including DirecTV's streaming device).  You don't need to deal with Amazon for this.  It might be a little less convenient using a separate app than being able to quickly switch channel to channel if you are trying to watch multiple games (not sure - I've never used it).    However, it has the benefit over Extra Innings that it also offers all games (I think including the in-market games) on demand after the game is over.

For in-market games and extra content, Stream has the local channels (usually),(depending on the package) the national sports channels (including MLB Network), and (again, depending on the package) the RSNs.  A caveat about the RSNs - while Stream carries most, they don't carry all, and they don't carry all alternate and overflow feeds, so you might get a different "local" game than the one you want.  They have improved this somewhat over the last year, but there are still significant issues in places where you would be within multiple RSN regions.
