Local channels

I spend winters in Tampa and would like to watch Tampa channels.  I use Firestick and have not found a way to do that without changing my billing address.  If I get an  AT&T C71KW-400 DirecTV Now Osprey Android TV OTT Box Streaming Player, will I be able to change to Tampa stations without changing billing address?

Yes, the Osprey C71KW-400 is now called the Gemini and it has location services that you have to turn on or off.   Hope this helps you.

Hi there. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. To clarify, adding a new receiver doesn't allow you to have access to local channels from a different billing and viewing address location. However, we'll forward it to our team, so they can review it and determine the next steps. Luisa, DIRECTV Community Specialist.

Have you tried using the Settings/Preferences/Set New Home Location, on your Fire Stick, to see if you can change the locals to Tampa?

This link may help, if you haven't already tried it.

Last year while in Tampa I spent almost an hour talking to Directv support on this issue.  Bottom line was that the only way to get Tampa locals with the equipment I had was to change billing address.

does the AT&T C71KW-400 DirecTV Now Osprey Android TV OTT Box Streaming Player, have location services or GPS?

Fascinatingly, that statement directly contradicts what the DIRECTVhelp rep said in this thread, but matches what other DIRECTVhelp reps have said elsewhere.  I personally don't know what is true, but it would be good if they got their statements straight, and even better if they were correct.

Another way to do it is, if you have an Android or ISO device, that has location services, and a TV you can cast to, send it from your phone or tablet, to the TV.
