Vizio smart TV install to DirecTv
After all set-up, Remote works all except turning TV Off. Will turn on, etc. but not off. Calling DirecTv they had no answer or help

Thank you for your response but we did spend an hour on the phone with DirecTv yesterday and the result was they had no idea how to solve. I just arranged the return of the TV's since the Vizio does not seem to work with DirecTv I also currently have a bad remote and a bad little box for another room. Thinking if I purchase another TV I'll have to have a service person come since the replacement remote DirecTv sent me also has problems and since I'm 82, no way will I attempt to replace and boot up, etc another box. I've already had tech knowledge neighbors here all day yesterday and they can't figure out DirecTv stuff. If it wasn't for the recording part of DirecTv, I'd switch to cable but I need the recording ability

My remote works with my Vizio TV, you may have the wrong code entered to get it to turn off the TV or maybe turning on HDMI-CEC will fix the problem, DTV calls it HDMI control no idea what Vizio calls it.

I see I'm not alone brought my wifi router home from AT+T set it UP TV works fine even has the ap available on it but I'm told visio tv must use a streaming service to get direct tv wow now I have to pay for another service to get direct tv which I'm paying for already!Just pile it on more money thought WIFI would make it better but no just more expensive no help?

Don't want to return the tv should not have to wasn't told it wouldn't work with visio tv $47,00 amonth for wifi it should work if I had Verizon would it be problem too?

The OP was having an issue using a remote control, not the entire service. And this thread is almost 2 years old.
Best to start a new thread. Make sure you are in the correct section (satellite customer or streaming-only). Verify if you're trying to use an app on the TV or a streaming box connected to it. (Also double check what that "WiFi router" is as that refers to internet service equipment, not a streaming box which is what I suspect it actually is).
