DirecTV boxes connect to all TVs. Most commonly by HDMI.
Only their 4K service has a specific compatibility.

All recent TVs will be compatible. What do you have?
I would make sure it is a TV and not a computer monitor. Sometimes the latter has quirks when used as a "TV".
HDMI, A/V, or even adapted to coax/UHF (if your TV is very old). Naturally you'll want HDMI for the best quality as is the current standard.
