System comes back on by itself after I turn it off.

As long as your post was polite and did not contain inappropriate links, then it shouldn't be removed. It is possible that their auto system might have flagged it in error (there have been a few that happened lately, some updates in the background for the forum I guess). But I highly doubt "moderator scorn" is the cause. I suggest not keeping a chip on your shoulder for a non-issue.

In any case, try posting it again. Just keep it simple and to the point of the thread (avoiding links just to be safe). Hopefully it works. But if not, make a small post about it and an ACE can pass along a forum issue so those that work on the forum can see about fixing whatever is going on.

OK, but weird...

So the issue is a "CEC race" condition..

you have CEC on in the system.

You turn the system off... and the remote issues an "off" via blutooth to the Gemini... ALSO, it sends an off command via IR to your TV...

All is good, right?

Wrong.

When the Gemini turns off, it ALSO sends a CEC command for power on the HDMI...

the TV gets this and turns back on...

I had the same thing happen, and you used to be able to disable the CEC in the Gemini, but no longer with the latest firmware (!!!!)

So, you should go into the TV and see if you can turn the CEC response there... maybe not.. if you cannot, then investigate the TV and see if it only "sees" CEC on particular HDMI inputs... on one installation, CEC only worked on the TV HDMI input #1, so connected DTV Gemini to HDMI input 2...

I did try that, but it didn't seem to work.  I contacted Directv directly (with a recommended number from this Forum.  They walked me through several processes which didn't resolve the problem.  After an hour and a half, the tech agent felt that my Gemini unit was to blame.  They agreed to send me a replacement unit.  I received it last Thursday and installed it on Friday.  I called Directv for the final activation process.  Completed it on Friday afternoon, and everything seems to be working properly.  Writing this on Monday afternoon and everything has been working fine.  So this problem can be closed.  Thanks for all the helpful information.  Michael
