If you are using an antenna the signal is not coming from DirecTV, it's coming over-the-air from the station itself. That means the station is not broadcasting in HD. Nothing to do with DirecTV.
What is your zip code and county? That is to check if they provide an HD broadcast to DirecTV or not. Even if a local has an HD broadcast they might send the SD version to the TV provider.
If that antenna is connected directly to the TV that would suggest they are not in HD currently, just the new digital broadcast that all locals are in now.
