New Genie 2 HS 17

Replaced a failed Genie 2 HS17.  Went through all the proper steps.  Trouble now is reconnecting the 2 wireless clients.  The wired clients come up just fine.  Restarted clients, restarted Genie 2, checked that Genie 2 is alive on my local network, etc.  Error code is 615 (Lost Video Connection)..    Any clue as to what I should try next?  Lengthy phone conversations with Directv help line.  Finally, they say they will have a to send a tech.  I have had Directv since 1995.  I have yet to need a tech to help with anything so I hate to throw in the towel and schedule a tech.

Thank you.

Thanks for your loyalty and efforts to reconnect your wireless clients, @westway. Try these next steps and let us know how it goes:

1. Check Wireless Video Bridge (WVB) connections. Ensure it’s in a well-ventilated area and free from interference (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones). Check all cable connections - make sure everything is secure, and press the red reset button to restart it (may take a few minutes).

2. Move wireless Genie Minis closer to the HS17 to test for signal strength issues, which can trigger error 615.

3. Perform a “double reboot” on the Genie 2 by unplugging it, waiting 15 seconds, plugging it back in, and repeating within 30 minutes.

Is it just the Genie-2's built-in WVB or are you also using an external WVB?

Not needing a tech since '95 is impressive and commendable. Hopefully the suggestions on the forum can help. If not, well 30 years of DIY is a good run and no shame in having the actual company take care of it.

And I hope that means you are not paying for their Equipment Protection Plan.

How Far away are the wireless clients from the HS17 -that may be your issue -try moving one of them closer to the HS-17 if it connects that's your problem
