HS17 -> Samsung TV problem

My Genie HS17 got a software update on 7/2.  At that time, my Samsung TV stopped turning on and off correctly.  One example is that when I turn it off with my Directv remote, the receiver (I think HS25) shuts off but the TV goes off and then turns back on.  The remote works over RF (to receiver).  I tried re-pairing the remote and tried to change TVs in the setup.  The receiver seems to know it's a Samsung TV.  It says trying code 1 of 66.  It asks me to try vol up/down to see if it worked.  If I say it worked, I get the bug as I described.  If I say no, it tries code 2.  (vol up or down works in all cases.  Code 2 is broken differently.  TV is UMN50TU700D

If you have the Genie-2 (HS17) then you cannot have any receivers. It only allows Clients, which would be models starting with C (such as C51).

There is no model HS25. The HS17 is the only Headless Server. There is an H25 which is the last HD non-DVR but that is forbidden from being on the account with the HS17.

So recheck your model numbers, including the model number of the remote control, so we start with full correct info.

Rich is correct about this being a Directv problem. I have the same issue using a Directv 4K box (Model: C61K-700) with the Samsung QN55S95CAFXZA.

I thought at first it was a television problem. After resetting everything multiple times I realized this started right after the Directv software update on 7/2.

Hopefully, there will be a fix coming soon.

@FGPotts

a work around I use --turn the C61K off manually -then turn off your TV

Not a TV Model Problem my Sony does the same thing.

another CEC/HDMI control problem caused by DTV not making this control state an option, removed from Genesis and recently removed from the Genie Mini...

Too bad the DTV software people don't read this forum, and there is no "suggestion box" that gets all these complaints.
