Freezing issues are due to either a fan issue, hard drive issue, or perhaps a bad power supply. Are there any error codes when the HR44 freezes, or is it just general slowness when going through the Guide and Menus?
If you are looking at 10% or less free of space, then it is suggested to make some room.
Also, how many Clients (Mini Genie, RVU TV, or Gemini) are paired with your Genie (HR44)? One of the reasons I suggest dedicated receivers/HDDVRs instead of Clients so that you are stealing resources from the main box.

Hi, there. We're sorry for the trouble with your Genie box. Yes, clearing the storage on the receiver will help the freezing issue.
