Disable WiFi
Anyone know how to disable the WiFi on a Dish recorder? It pulses constantly. I have looked and looked to no avail on the internet. All I learn about is how to make it not access your wifi, not how to disable the WiFi. I want it OFF, disabled, not working.
Thank you.

You need to post in the Dish forum but i doubt there is anyway to disable the WiFi from transmitting or receiving.

This forum is for DirecTV stuff, not Dish Network.

What DVR/Receiver model number?
What do you mean by "pulses constantly"?
How exactly is the box's WiFi causing you problems?

You cannot disable the WiFi. It can only be disconnected from your router, not completely turned off.
The only ones with WiFi built in are the 2nd/3rd generation Genie HR44/HR54 (or revised HR54R1, or Genie-2 (HS17) which is the only one that has a WVB built-in as well for wireless Clients.
I would have liked them have an option to completely turn off if you use a wired only setup. That way less saturation for any other wireless devices you have. But to date there has been no option to do so.

I've had DirecTV for years, but I finally connected it to my WiFi. Now I get unwanted ads and pause knocks my video and audio out of sync. How can I disconnect from my WiFi?

Being connected to internet means the logo screen saver is replaced with the advertisement/landscape picture one.
Since you connected by WiFi instead of wired, then go into the Menu into the INTERNET settings, and there you can RESET NETWORK DEFAULTS. This should eventually revert back to the simple screen saver.
Be aware anything recorded while it was connected will probably still have the other screen saver injected into it.
This is a bit different from the OP who wanted to not just disconnect WiFi but to completely remove the capability (supposedly they didn't want any signal even if not doing anything) and from over a year ago. If you need further help, start a fresh thread as this one will be CLOSED
