Can DirecTV DVR auto-record based on category or keyword
We were told our Tivo is no longer supported and supplied with a DirecTV DVR. I cannot find a way to auto-record programs based on a category or keyword. For example, if I want to record Sports: Soccer so that all soccer matches are auto-recorded, is that possible? I'm in shock at the lack of functionality of this DVR compared to Tivo. Can we really only autorecord specific programs listed in the guide?

While the THR22 is no longer supported so long as it works you can use it unless you have deactivated it. When I put Dodgers into the search I get games. You can also find a game in the guide and press the record button twice to record the series.

Hi, @jrgoodspeed. No, there's no option to auto-record based on the keyword. However, you can search and type in the name of the team you'd like to record. Then, do a keyword search, and it will let you select the genre (Sports) and title (Soccer). You can then manually auto-record all shows that match the selected category.
