Check the Google Play Store for free streaming apps. Depending on how much you can actually spend for TV/streaming each month would determine what streaming services you could possibly subscribe to.

You really don't need the C71WK to stream programs if your TV has the apps you watch.

To get local channels you plug a regular antenna into your TV.
You cannot get 'live' TV through the Gemini (C71KW) outside of a DirecTV (satellite) or DIRECTV STREAM service. It becomes a standalone streaming box so you use whatever apps you get on it.
