Avaliable Equipment

Was just wondering for the future if I do move. Is there any equipment at the moment that doesn't require a coax cable or a reciever. Kinda like a plug in and stream. I hears the gemini wireless was a option but you need one of the hd dvrs.

Only DTV Steaming and only if your Smart TV has the app or can download it from their app store or use a streaming device connected to the TV.  Sat service requires a dish and coax to a Genie then can be wireless to the clients.   DTV has a movers deal so you take all your receivers/clients and DTV adds the dish if needed and any coax.

DirecTV satellite requires a dish with at least one box physically connected to the coax. There is no wireless to the dish itself. With a Genie or Genie-2 setup, there is the option of having wireless clients; Mini Genie (C41W, C61W) or Gemini (C71KW which can be used wired or wireless).

From "plug in and stream" it sounds like you want an internet streaming service, not satellite. There is DIRECTV STREAM for that. You can use a Roku, app on compatible 'smart' TVs (capable but not suggested), or get a Gemini (streaming-only version as the firmware is different from the one's for satellite).

There is no way to be without wires or without at least one receiver with satellite.
