You call DirecTV and discuss your channels and see if you can go to a lower package. Certainly ask if your account has any discounts available, but prepared there may not be.
There is no category discount (senior citizen, low income, etc.) to apply for. Any discounts are based on your account only.

What equipment and channel package do you have now? Lowering your channel package or returning some equipment are the only ways to reduce your costs.
