Stupid billings/charges
Since I have been dealing with figures all my life I want to ask a VERY STUPID question(s). Since we have been unable receive service from our glorious (vampires after blood ) Directv providers, are we the CUSTOMERS (who pay for this crap) going to get credit for shows/channels we have been unable to get? Also it might help if you give seniors (maybe the ones over 70 a discount??) Not all of us retired with a bankroll big enough to choke Godzilla and some like my self who are widows or widowers having to foot every penny myself & plus prices on rise.....you get the picture. All I see is a bunch of vampires after blood...money hungry ghouls!

This is a public forum of other customers, we cannot offer any sort of discounts to you being we are customers as well.
If by missing shows/channels you mean local channels affected by Tegna, DIRECTV is offering a $10 credit for the inconvenience. See here to get this credit: https://www.directv.com/tvpromise/
As a note, you are not being forced to stay with DIRECTV as a senior, there are definitely several cheaper alternatives, including streaming services.

Cutting through all the movie monsters, I believe you are referring to certain local channels being gone right now. Those are affiliate stations owned by Tegna. Their carriage agreement came up and they have chosen to keep their feed away from DirecTV in order to get a deal for a higher cost. So that would be your "vampire", not the TV provider (DirecTV).
If you log into your account online, or if needed calling customer support, DirecTV has been offering a $10 courtesy credit. It is not something they are obligated to do as Terms of Service do state that channels may change at any time, a clause that all TV providers have since they don't own the channels.
There are no category discounts (low income, senior citizen, etc.). All customers are treated equal. Pay TV is a luxury entertainment service. So if the cost is not comfortable for your budget then reduce service until within an acceptable cost. Prices go up for both customers and businesses, people tend to ignore the latter.

If you are missing your local channels you could get an over-the-air antenna or if you are looking for cheaper ways to watch TV you could look into streaming there are a lot of ways to watch free live channels if you can stream.
