Refund
I cancelled DirectTV at least 2 billing cycles ago. Does anyone have any idea how long to get a refund or how to contact DirectTV about it? I've tried to call but get caught up in the menu options and can't get to a live person

Which reason were you given a refund and by whom? How are you expected to be credited for the refund? The number to contact DIRECTV is in my greeting below.
Otherwise, here is more info from DIRECTV’s website;

When you cancel DirecTV, the final bill is not prorated. This means no matter how many days are left in the bill cycle; you pay for the entirety of it. As such, there normally would not be any refund as you are not being credited back unused days.
However, if by some strange reason there was a remaining credit balance that was not used up by the final bill, unbilled PPVs, an Early Cancellation Fee (ECF) or any other final changes, then after 30 days since the final month ended, they mail a prepaid card.
So, did you receive another bill showing a credit balance or why do you think you are due a refund?

Thank you for your comments. To clarify…. I canceled my DirectTV by phone, had no contract, had nearly a full month left on the current cycle and returned my equipment. I was told I would receive a refund by mail verbally and in writing. I simply want to know if anyone has any experience In how long it takes for the refund to be issued it has been 2 months

As stated before DTV no longer prorates the bill you pay for and receive service until the end of you billing cycle regardless of where in the billing cycle you canceled.

I have a credit balance on my Direct TV since March. I call their customer service line every month and continue to be told the pre-paid Master Card will be mailed within 21 - 40 days. It has now been 182 days and I still have not received the refund. I called again today and was told it would by mailed 21 - 40 days from today since today is the day I called with the complaint. I have called every single month since March with the complaint. They are extremely unethical and I will never use their services again or recommend them to anyone else.

I suggest you file a BBB complaint as this may get a move on things.

If the account was canceled, then any remaining credit balance should have already been sent out. I would suggest if you call again to verify if the account is actually canceled and not suspended (a trick some bad agents have used to avoid a cancellation on their records).
Otherwise if it has been canceled for that long, file a BBB complaint to kick this issue to the corporate level. With the new co-owner taking over operations this may just be an automated process that failed to complete that they need to manually push through.

Direct does not prorate their final bill anymore. It's a complete ripoff. If you cancel only 1 day into their billing cycle, you will be charged for the whole month. I just spent an hour on the phone with them. Everyone should be complaining about this policy and quite frankly should consider canceling their service altogether. The company is very poorly managed. If you want to talk to someone call 1-800-531-5000 and ask for billing; then ask for "something else" at the prompt.

DTV is not the only company to do this and you agreed to it per the TOS and has been in effect for 2 years or more.
