Reconnect Promo Offer
Not sure what has happen at DirecTV. I have been a continuous subscriber for 15 years. I received an email that stated I could reconnect with the Entertainment Package at $65 a month + $15 Advance receiver fee + $7 for second receiver and receive a $100 Visa Card no commitment price good for 24 months. I clicked the link and filled out all of the info that was asked of me. The next day I get a phone call to confirm what I selected. After on the phone with some dude from Texas for 45 minutes the offer was not what was in the email, it was substantially more! He wanted to charge me $15 ARF, $10 HD, $10 DVR, $3 Whole Home and $14 for two receivers. My total bill for the Entertainment Package included taxes was $111, clearly DirecTV was not upfront with their pricing in the email. In addition I haven't had a CBS channel (WYOU 22) since October of 2022, of course he had no info as to why. He asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the Choice package, I said no unless you offer NBC Sports of Philadelphia as the local RSN (I don't want YES, SNY or Pittsburgh). He had no answer as to why its not carried other than saying he is a football fan and not a baseball fan.
Two years ago I paid $73 for Choice with RSN and two receivers and I was happy with the programing I received. Now I was offered Choice at $137 including RSN and two receivers, that is a 47% increase for less programing. What is with the false advertising and the extreme price increases?

You definitely should not have been sent such a misleading email. DIRECTV, like other providers, has an annual rate increase to reflect the constant increase in channel owner rebroadcasting fees to carry channels/content. I would stay away from any email promotions as Entertainment would never be that cheap.

Reconnect Promo Offer
Hi jdeday, Our customers are always top of mind while negotiating with content companies. We work hard to offer the best value, which is tougher to do as costs and competition keep climbing. The charges that you mentioned, like ARF and DVR, are listed on our website under the Packages lead because those are additions to the basic package. In reference to the RSN channels, it is right that they are no longer carried out because of a Congress regulation on local channels. Please contact us with any further assistance you may need.

HD, DVR, and Whole Home DVR are not part of Entertainment, Choice, or any other package. Those are receiver services on top of the package. If all you had were SD non-DVRs, you wouldn't pay for any of those (be aware SD is no longer an option as those feeds are shutting down). Just like your additional TV fees are beyond the package cost.
The email should have find print indicating there may be possible other charges depending what equipment level you select. Not everyone gets DVRs so those are based on the options you choose when finalizing the order.

The email did have fine print which I did read. $15 for advance receiver and $7 for additional receivers. This is what I paid in the past and I had HD and DVR + Whole Home.

You say you've been a continuous subscriber for 15 years. That doesn't match $15 for receiver services. DirecTV changed their billing model in late 2015 (well before they were acquired by DirecTV).
Old way: Primary TV free, HD $10, DVR $10, Whole Home DVR. Total $23
New way: Primary TV $7, Advanced Receiver $15 (DVR and Whole Home DVR together). Total $22. (prices rearranged to make it look like HD was free since by this point people expected that it was the standard even though it still the companies).
Based on the change you have either had DirecTV less than a decade or it was not continuous and you had to start over with current services.
The "All Included" was introduced by AT&T. It added in the receiver services and primary TV into the package cost (rounding up a penny to make it a solid amount). This was an attempt to address complaints of some people not seeing the possible receiver services in the fine print of offers. Personally I like it itemized so I know how much each part is, but I respect trying to have overall cost be more visible for new customers.

Regional sport networks are based on your physical service address. And only if DirecTV has an agreement to carry that network in the first place.
Your receiver services being $15 has not been since 2007. That means something happened to your account after 2015 when the billing model changed. That should only happen if your account was canceled as grandfathered options or lost or somebody created you a new account (such as you move and a bad agent doesn't do a Movers order to scam a new customer commission). Your account had something hiccup the options as true continuous would have left you on the grandfathered bililng model. (getting a reconnect offer means you canceled and so are no longer continuous customer).
As for your CBS statin, most likely carriage negotiations. Agreement comes up between TV provider (DirecTV) and network (local affiate station). When new agreement is not reached by the time the current one ends, network chooses to pull the feed. This is normally done so network can leverage customers to raise rates. To see if that is the situation for your local affiliate of CBS, check the official status page: https://www.directv.com/tvpromise/
