Miscommunication

Was told 50 percent of my bill would be covered if payed by the Dec.,15 I paid 137.50 . Nothing came off my bill. Now I get a disconnection notice if 167.50 wasn't paid today.. called customer service and had a person apparently from another country trying to handle my personal stuff..could not speak English or understand english.kept asking me if I was in New jersey when I live in Missouri..must take an act of Congress to honor the discount . With all the money saved outsourced customer service. I'm Military.. on fixed income.. and disabled I really appreciate the inconvenience... Be the first to Hollar when your rights are challenge n you need a service member to keep you free!! God bless America..

You are contacting other customers  on a public forum so unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to adjust your bill.

I suggest you call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and say ‘cancel’ to the robot to be sent to the retention/loyalty department where an agent ‘NOT’ from overseas can assist. If a resolution isn’t met after several phone calls, you would proceed with a BBB complaint.

Although, I personally have not heard of a 50% bill coverage for paying early. That seems fishy.

Who told you that you would get 50% off? Never heard of that sort of promotion.

No i paid my bill with my debit card.!!!! And I also have the email to me from att. That has my last 4 numbers of account listed on the 50 percent off so called scam. So if it is a scam they hacked my att. Account..

I paid my bill with my debit card not a gift card. And for the scam comment they had my email address and my last 4 numbers of my att. Account so if it is a scam they hacked my account. So no telling what they have done. I'm probly paying for someone else's cable bill.

DirecTV would never contact you with an offer like this. It's almost certainly a scam. They don't need to hack your account to get this information, it's out there.

DirecTV does not offer 50% off your bill. If you were contacted, that was a scam that has been going on in a few variations for a couple or so years now. Take measures to protect your personal info and warn your bank.

However, if you called the proper customer support number (on your bill, DirecTV official website, etc.) and an agent offered this, then they told you quite a whopper.
