Lack of customer appreciation/loyalty
After 15 years of being a customer, all they have done for us is take away channels and raise our bill to almost $200/month. With absolutely no attempt to lower the bill, even after talking with “management”. Just a bunch of excuses and lies. With this kind of service I Hope you go bankrupt right along side blockbuster.

Unfortunately when their operating costs go up, so do our bills. The biggest issue is that networks charge all TV providers (not just DirecTV) more and more each year to be carried. You have probably experienced some carriage negotiation issues over those 15 years as some of them go rather public.
You claim "no attempt" which I find a dubious statement. Either they didn't have the big discount you wanted, or the only option was to reduce service to a more budget friendly level. Pay TV is a luxury service, so discounts are only sometimes available and only for a limited time. There is no obligation they ever have a discount available.
Prices for many things have increased over the years. Look at gas pricing for an example. Do you wish all companies go bankrupt because you cannot afford the service and refuse to make any changes yourself to better fit your budget?
I do wish pricing were lower, as I've had to juggle my bill as well. But I do try to look at the situation with a realistic perspective. So review your channels in case what you really watch is in a lower costing package to begin with. And you can change your package at any time, so perhaps you just need to lower for so many months to give breathing room. In the end it is your responsibility to manage your bill, not expect companies to discount it for you.
