Fox TV

Is there any way I can remove that channel from my account? I would love to. I never watch it and I would like to remove it completely. I have read that that channel gets subsidies and I would rather my money not go to them. Can this happen? I have heard that people are able to do that.

Unfortunately; that cannot happen as the whole TV industry prevents it. The known way to prevent you from seeing this in the Guide is creating a favorites List.

AFAIK the only package that doesn't have Fox news is the lowest Family package.  The content providers package their channels same as all TV providers do.  DTV and all other TV providers pay the content providers for their programing so long as you have a TV provider you are paying for Fox News.

Thanks for your responses. I was more curious than anything.

If it is your local Fox, there is no way for you to remove. Locals are included in all packages, though are subject to change (such as when channel owner pulls the feed demanding higher costs).

If you mean Fox News, only the lowest package (Family) doesn't have it.

So though you cannot remove individual channels from your subscription, you can hide them with a favorites list so that only what you actually watch comes through.
