DIRECTV SUCKS AND THEY RIP YOU OFF
I was lied to since starting with the guy how started my packet about 5 years ago. Fast forward to today and I moved at the end of November and called to transfer my services to the new address. Yet the regulations where I moved to changed and do not allow any satellite or any other adaptations inside or outside. So the same day the techs came to try and install my services and saw that they were not allowed to I called to confirm the cancellation on both the internet and cable. The couple of employees I spoke to had said it was canceled and I even received an email. Yet days went by and I called again because I wanted to return the equipment only to find out the services had not been canceled. They let the billing cycle start for the month of December and then canceled and I had to pay for a bill/ service I could not receive, did not receive or use. This is (Edited per community guidelines). And their dumba$$es keep calling to see why I had to cancel my services and want me to return. (Edited per community guidelines) no. The audacity of this company to take my money for a service not provided and not used and expect me to come back. Who the (Edited per community guidelines) would want to do business with them like that. Their sales representative lack communication one says one thing and another says another thing. They lie they say they cancel or fix an issue.

You indeed had a bad experience, but that doesn’t mean everyone else should just cancel their service (no offense).
When cancelled the bill isn’t prorated, not to forget.
In any event, you should call in (number in my greeting below) and say ‘cancel’ to be sent to the retention/loyalty department where you should tell the agent everything you told us. If the agent refuses or there are issues, you can then try a BBB complaint.

Check out the FCC OTARD regulations. You have legal rights to install a satellite dish in any space under your primary use. Home Owner's Associations cannot override those rights.

Whatever HOA or other entity that said they do not allow satellite was in violation of Federal regulations. Per OTARD, you are allowed satellite in an area under your control (patio, balcony, etc.). They can only have 'reasonable' restrictions on placement, though many push that line to try and prevent you so you are forced to go with their preferred provider or they don't have to see (gasp) a satellite dish on the property.
I would double check your bill cycle dates. When you cancel service and billing is still valid through the end of the service cycle. They no longer prorate as of almost 4 years ago (Jan 2019). But if the service cycle (not calendar month) started over and you were charged for another month of active service then that would be an issue (a technical one if you received an email confirmation of DirecTV cancellation).
Assuming the cycle started over by accident (have heard of this a few times with both new system and co-owner in the mix), call DirecTV and when you get the voice system say "cancel". Let the agent know you had already canceled and when you called to do so, that way they know how far back to look in the notes. They complete the cancel and credit back to the start of the cycle that shouldn't have happened as a billing correction. Keep in mind they are required to make a 'save' attempt with any account, even one with an error as you've mentioned. Just stay firm but polite and continue with cancellation.
If the following cancellation agent is unable to resolve the cancellation status as well as when (crediting accordingly), I concur to go with a BBB complaint. That sends your issue to the corporate level to further look into it.
Boxes do get taken to a participating FedEx or The UPS Store for your free return. Just need to take your account number. Make sure to get receipt showing they took possession. What are the models of each box? (just in case not all or any are returnable).

Post like this should not be allowed. If people are going to come on here just to complain then admins should remove their posts.

Complaints are certainly allowed. Knowing the issue or their concern and others can give guidance. And sometimes bringing a situation to light that may be an issue for another can help save someone else some grief.
However, those that come on just to mess with other posters or just rant on without wanting help or guidance, I agree such threads are a waste of space.
Hopefully the OP got some useful guidance in this thread to help resolve their situation. If all they wanted was a sounding board, well at the very least I hope they feel better.
