Customer Service Phone Number for Property Damage

My backyard patio roof was damaged during a technical repair. I've been calling several numbers and spending MANY hours and I cant get any good phone number to get an answer.

II called the customer service number. I was transferred to 4 different people in 4 different countries and was on hold for an hour. All I needed was to make an appointment for a technician.

Speaking of technicians, I recently upgraded to Genie 2. The first technician had the order wrong and didn't know how to rectify it. The second technician who came a week later had the right equipment but didn't know how to install it. He suggestion was to call the Geek Squad. He promised to check with his supervisor and call back, but never did. The third technician was also clueless on the installation, and I ended up paying to have my audio-visual person present while the technician basically watched him do the installation.

Now Direct TV can't maintain a consistent Internet signal.

What a way to run a business!!! I can't wait for AI to progress.

DTV tech are not trained to install audio equipment or A/V systems all they do is plug the HDMI cable into an HDMI port on the TV and change the TV's input to it. Your router assigns the IP address to the DTV receiver so any problems are with it.

DirecTV techs are only trained to connect equipment to a TV, a standard setup. Connecting to audio/video equipment, though perhaps common, is not standard for them. That is up to you or your chosen audio/visual person to pay to do it for you.

The service is by satellite. Internet perks are secondary, so it is not a great WiFi antenna in the box. Either relocate router or possibly a wireless access point in better reach of your DirecTV box or go with a wired connection (direct Ethernet or powerline adapter).

This thread is about property damage, which seems to have no bearing on your issues. If you want further guidance, either start a new thread specific to your issue or call DirecTV for official support.

You don't have to wait for AI to progress. There are other ways you could give up on your humanity and interaction with real people and just leave it all behind.

They installed my neighbor's dish to my roof without my consent. DirTV customer service rep refused to report it to be corrected (including patching the holes they drilled into my attic wall) because I'm "not a customer." Good luck getting anything done! Btw my neighbor not likely to do anything about it because he apparently was ok with it. We've had other negative issues with him regarding our property.

So separate buildings and properties? File a BBB complaint as that goes to the corporate level

Upon install the dish becomes part of the property so you can do with it what you will as well. Though I might get an official response first so they can see that everything is attached and is not on your bank account to fix your home. Otherwise, wonder how your neighbor would feel if service goes out while watching his favorite program...

You can remove the dish but leave the mounting bracket attached.

This is not the first time I've heard of dish installed on someone else's home. How does this happen and how do people not consider the homeowner might just rip it out?
