Change from AT&T

I did not agree to having my contract with AT&T cancelled. I never made any agreement with this new DIRECTV entity. If my existing agreement for this service will not be honored: I consider the unilateral contract change to render said contract null and void.

While AT&T owns 70% of DTV it is still a separate service so if you order DTV service there is no contract with AT&T but with DTV that has been around for 30 years.  Per DTV TOS you can cancel at anytime subject to any ETF/ECF.

AT&T adding a new co-owner does not void your existing service agreement. It is not up to you who owns the business or who they share it with.

If you don't like it, you can cancel. But if you have a service agreement then you are liable for an early cancellation fee (ECF) valued at $20 for each month remaining. The ECF is not waivable because you don't agree with who owns or manages DirecTV ("unilateral change" as you put it). Same as when AT&T first acquired DirecTV.

So what is the real problem? Did something happen? What do you think was "not honored"?
