If any are returnable, you take them to a participating FedEx/The UPS Store location. Have your account number and make sure to get receipt showing they took possession and put it in a safe space.
Any boxes you're told are non-returnable, or shipper doesn't take, keep for a couple months or so just to be sure. After that you're free to drop off with electronic recycling.
Also be aware when you cancel it goes through at the end of the service month. Unused days are not prorated/credited. So verify what your cycle dates are so you don't end up canceling say day 1 or 2 but still paying for an entire month.

That depends on what equipment you have. DirecTV should provide you with return instructions when you cancel.
