Bill explanation

I would like an explanation of the charges on my bill.  This month my internet charge went up $5.00 without any explanation.  Also would like to know what the XTRA charge covers as well as what the following charges cover.  TV access fee-2 clients, Advanced receiver charge, Regional Sports Fee, TV access fee.  Also my internet charges cover a Internet 100.  Since I do not use the internet for much more than playing games do I need that program.  I am receiving a $60 monthly credit which will run out in 4 months.  At this time if I cannot lower my bill by approximately 25% I am going to have to cancel my service.  Any help will be appreciated.

You apparently have your internet service combined with your Directv service. I can tell you about the $5 increase on your internet plan, there was a $5 price increase effective in May. Mine went up too. You need to go back a bill or two to see the notice of the price increase.

For an official explanation, call DirecTV. But we in the community can explain most of it.

Xtra is the name of your DirecTV programming package.

You pay $7 for each additional TV/Client.

Advance Receiver is your receiver services, such as DVR.

The RSN fee is because packages Choice and above include your Regional Sport Networks. These are the channels that include the professional sports teams where you live. This is not optional, simply made transparent unlike other companies that still hide this in other costs.

DirecTV is a TV service, not internet. So you would need to contact your ISP to discuss what those charges are. Sounds like you have a combined bill, supposedly for your convenience. Personally I keep mine separate as companies tend to only be detailed on the bill for their own charges and only summarize the other that is combined onto theirs.

Discounts are not forever, they are a business. Prepare to reduce service or go without if you cannot afford it.
