Paperless billing doesn't mean the bill goes to your email. You log into your account to view the paperless bill.

Don't be so willing to post your email address. This is a public forum, not private support.

My monthly bill is 242.85 which is so high I am thinking about changing, all I have is the sports pack @ 14.99 and regional sports fee @ 19.99 and all I want to do is watch the Cubs!!!!!  Still some of the games are on Peacock!!  I am so upset with the amount of this bill, do you ever give discounts???? My service is shut off, my Dad just passed, and then I am dealing  with this service and like when we have storms the direct TV the first thing that goes out.............REALLY how safe is that?? Would I recommend Direct tv (Edited per community guidelines) NO!!!!!

@ChelleB

Packages Choice and higher include your Regional Sports Networks (RSNs). If your RSN fee is $19.99 than you are in the most expensive market (as dictated by the teams in your area).

The Sports Pack is mainly for college sports and some regional events. If you are in a package below Choice, it gives you your in-market RSNs as well and without the RSN fee, usually making it cheaper than raising up to Choice.

For any professional games out of market, you get the seasonal subscription (such as MLB Extra Innings). That covers in-season games only.

Unfortunately MLB has additional blackout rules for Saturday/Sunday games, plus having sold off some games to specific services. That and blackouts are not under the control of DirecTV (or essentially any other TV provider). That is mainly up to the content owner (in this case MLB).

If your bill is almost $250, than Sports Pack and RSN fee are not "all you have". I would suggest reviewing the channels you watch to see if it would be appropriate to go to a lower costing package. Perhaps Entertainment with the Sports Pack would give you many channels you enjoy at a lower price point.

DirecTV going out during a storm has nothing to do with being safe or not. It is service by satellite, as in the broadcast comes from orbit. Heavy enough storm and the signal just doesn't make it through. Not sure how you got concerns of "safe" from that.

DirecTV doesn't automatically give discounts. It is up to you to call DirecTV to discuss your account and options to lower bill. Be aware any discounts that might be available are not permanent. Pay TV is a luxury service after all. If you cannot afford service without discounts, than you cannot afford it and should take the financial responsibility to adjust service with a budget that is comfortable for you.

However, you say service is shut off. That puts everything on hold. If this is for past due, than you must catch up your bill first before you can make any changes. Once you do so, going forward make sure to review your bills and services so that you can make adjustments before you get behind.

No disrespect for your dad passing or any other hardships you are currently facing. Just pointing out some options and giving a realistic perspective on the situation. You may not recommend DirecTV, but nothing you posted is an issue with DirecTV itself. Service within cost and paying bills to keep service on is your responsibility. Where games may be viewed is up to their respective leagues.

Hope that clears up some things for you. If you do need guidance, or help understanding the breakdown of your bill, or something else, please start a fresh thread. You posted to one that ended over a year ago which was just about how someone didn't understand how paperless billing worked which is unrelated to your concerns.
