2 months in advance for direct tv bill

I just talked to Carlos from the loyalty department . He indicated each bill is paying for the last month. So, my bill  (November and December combined.) Which is due now. Is this normal procedure? I didnt receive anything in the mail that this would happen. Paying two months? And the time is very inconvenient because yesterday, it was a death in the family. Ugh! He was very condescending. Got the impression as a customer they care less.

Nope, your billing cycle started the day you where installed, on day 2 your bill is made and sent or payed if on auto pay, on day 20 the bill is due. You are not billed in advance or for the previous month unless you are late.

I’ve been with direct tv for 6-8 years. Never heard of what they are saying. I asked to talk to a manager. They want me to pay the two months now. Never been late. Never skipped a month. I payed my last bill in November. But, now. They said no. You paid for October  bill. And you have to pay the two months now for December. And they keep saying I’m not late. We are talking close to 400 dollars.

You're not being Billed for 2 months, November to December is ONE billing cycle

Yes, I agree with you. I argued that same thing. I paid November bill. They said it was for Oct. so, the two bills for this billing cycles are 11/1/2022-11/30/22 for November and December 12/1/22-12/31/22 which is two bills. I took a pic of the statement to show everyone. But, it’s no upload button.

so, I copied what it said on the paper.

Total DIRECTV

More than one month of DIRECT charges are reflected in your bill this month, which is why your bill may look higher than usual. The service period near the beginning of each DIRECTV section indicates the actual month being billed.

Bills are for one monthly cycle. This is based on when you started service.

Install is Day 1 of cycle.

Day 2 bill produces. Also paid if on auto bill pay.,

Day 20 is listed due date if not on auto bill pay.

If I'm understanding correctly, your paper bill shows it is for 11/1 thru 11/30 and 12/1 thru 12/31 and has a notice that it shows 2 in this month. If so then something odd happened, such as one month billing got delayed far enough that they just put it on the next bill. I recall something like this happening several years ago, which only occured once so the following month it was back to normal.

I would review the last few bills and verify there are no overlapping charges to be sure.
