Roku: Account Setup Error, when trying to launch DirecTV app

purchased new Roku as trying to prepare for the end of ATT-Uverse.  setup went perfectly until the setup of the DirecTV app,  it accepted credentials without issue, then tries to launch, then says ACCOUNT SETUP ISSUE, TRY AGAIN OR EXIT.     some forums recommend removing the app and trying over again, however the app remove option is not available.  Please help
