No Apple tv app on my Gemini box(Direct tv Stream)

Yes, Apple TV is available.  Try resetting your device maybe for some reason your device hasn't updated because Channel 199 is available on all my Gemini devices.  If it still is not showing after doing a reset try using the voice function and say open Apple TV it should have been preinstalled on the Gemini devices when it updated.  This is strange because that update was a while ago!

When you say reset do you mean a factory reset? Won't that change the setting  I may have made? I restarted the device and checked for software updates and it says I'm up to date. No 199. I go from 197 to 201. If I do a voice request as you suggested and it takes me to info about Apple tv on YouTube. Oh well....thanks for your input.

hit 199 on your remote ....if that doesn't work you are going to have to do a factory reset ...

how long have you had your Dtv Stream box? And where did you get it ? Appletv app gas been available for a while ...not just since 5/24

Ludwick I hit 199 on the remote. Won't recognize it. 

Directtvhelp, I tried adding it manually. For whatever reason there is no Apple app on my Google Play store. Incredible. 

I can get the app on the LG's input side so will just access it that way. A shame I can't get it through the Gemini box tho. 

Final post. For some reason the app was disabled. I've never used Apple tv so not sure why that was the case. But as soon as I enabled it the app updated and now I can access it through 199 and the app itself. Thanks for the replies.

Someone in your house disabled it. Apple TV is a pre installed app and is enabled by default 

I'm the only one that lives here. The device was purchased refurbished. Perhaps the previous owner disabled it but I didn't.

Can I ask how you check if the app is disabled? My AppleTv won't run on a Gemini made 12/22. If I go into the Google Play store it says that Apple Tv is not compatible with my device.

Go into settings ...apps ...scroll down and see if it's disabled ...also are you a satellite or stream customer?

I have three boxes all with the black Directv label on the bottom. The Apple TV app will not run on any of those. I have one box with a green label and the Apple TV app runs fine on that one. Not sure what to do now.

Tried deleting cache, turning off auto-updating in Google Play. Nothing works.

The app will come up and attempt to update then crashes at 3-7% completed. You have the options to try again and exit. Nothing works.

Where did you get these boxes? 3rd party or DTV?

Off of Ebay. I did do factory resets as well. Like I say they are perfect other than running Apple TV.
