Is my refurbished DirecTVStream box locked to my userid/password
I purchased a refurbished DirecTVStream box as a spare directly from DirecTV. During the setup process it automatically logged into my account. Does this mean this box is forever locked to my account only? If needed can this box be disassociated from my account in the future? If I login to my DirecTV account all my 4 boxes show auto signon as OFF yet this box definitely signed itself on automatically. It's a spare so potenitally I might someday give it to one of my kids if they get their own account. Any insight appreciated. J

Hi @schmidtj. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The Auto Sign is a feature that our customers have. If you want you can disable it. Please follow these steps to set it up:
- Access Directv.com and sign in using your user ID and password.
- Within My Services you have to select Manage Package then select the DIRECTV card from the Overview.
- Scroll down to My Device and select Disable for the device serial number you would like to disassociate from your account.
- You'll receive a screen to confirm you want to disable the device, have to select Yes, disable now. Keep in mind you will not be able to turn auto sign-in back on once this is disabled.
The next time the devices sign in you will be prompted to enter your user ID and password.
It may take up to 24 hours to complete the change.
To cancel the change, you have to select No, cancel this change.
- You'll receive a Success screen confirming the change. If the request fails, you receive a screen We ran into an issue, to try again.
You have to select try again.

My account says both of mine are off as well (auto sign in)---but I think that is a glitch b/c I never turned them off. You might want to keep that feature, for now, it's nice to have them already signed in. If u ever want them off--I'd contact their twitter support.
