Is Gemini Air the same as Directv streaming box?
I want to use my DTV streaming box with Fioptics TV, but can't get a definitive answer on if it will work. A DTV employee answered and said it would, with Gemini Air. So, what is Gemini air, exactly, and is my streaming box, the same thing. I already have the Fioptics app on my box but can't do the self install until after 5 tonight and just want to know if I need to get their box or not.

Gemini Air is one of many devices that support DirecTV Stream service. DirecTV also provides the C71K streaming box. Or you can use your own streaming device, like Roku, FireStick, Apple TV, etc. All of these connect to any TV with an HDMI input. What do you currently have?

The Gemini Air and the Gemini Device(Directv Stream Box) are basically the same. The only difference is that one can be connected to the internet through WiFi only and the other can be connected by hardwiring with ethernet cable or WiFi. The Gemini Air is more like a Roku Stick or Firestick

Great question, @nabuch. The device you have is the Gemini box. The difference between both devices is that Gemini Air delivers stunning picture quality with 4K and HDR10+. Besides its compact design with built-in HDMI to plug directly into the TV, customer experience is the same. However, both the Gemini and the Gemini Air have the same interface. Your DirecTV streaming box should connect directly to your TV, not your Fioptics device.

Thank you for providing this information. If a third-party app that is supported is not available in the Google Play Store on your device, you can still access it by using a compatible device. Apparently, ATT Direct TV needs more money than what they already charge us. If you do not buy the gemini air or some version of it, then you will HAVE to sign in every time you turn on your TV to use the Direct TV app. They just recently started making you sign in everytime. JUST ANOTHER MONEY GRAB. Why have an app to stream direct TV if you have to sign in every time? I don't have to do that with Amazon, Netflex, Disney, HULU or many other apps.,. Again, Just another money grab by ATT Direct TV

There is no ATT/DirecTV. They are 2 different companies. They split over 2 years ago. Besides, you already have posted your issue in another post.

I just checked the Samsung app (which I don't use anymore)---installed it---signed in. Turned off the tv---waited 5 minutes then went back to it---and didn't have to sign in again. So, not sure what you are talking about.

LOL. Ludwick577 - -thanks for that... not sure what I'm talking about. I'm glad you're not having the same issue. And maybe it's that they only do it once a day.
But thanks again for everyone's input.
And if ATT & DirecTV aren't the same company or still affiliated, why then does it redirect me to the ATT website?

DirecTV see attached screenshot. I'm over it. You just told me "There is nothing you can do to resolve your problem. It is what it is!

@trish77064 There is an easy solution to the problem in your pic. All you have to do is change your email address to one that is not associated with your AT&T account.

I will try that, but I don't think that will fix the issue of having to sign in every day to the service. But I can certainly try that. Thank you
