HDMI Extractor Compatible with Direct TV Streaming Box

I've had Direct TV Streaming for about a year and it's been great. Recently my TV has had audio issues where I have to poswer the TV off and On to fix disabled or frozen volume control. My TV only has Fiber Optic audio plugs so I don't want to use that. I have found there are HDMI Extractor boxes that allow you to connect sound systems from the Extractor rather than the TV. I want to connect a Sound bar to the HDMI Extractor. Has anyone found an HDMI Extractor that is compatible with the Direct TV streaming box. Seems there are many options but not all are compatible. Any suggestions are appreciated.
