Constantly resetting boxes
We have 3 DirectTV Stream boxes in our house. Over the last 3 (or so) weeks, we’ve had to reset each box close to 4 times a day. Any reason why this might be happening?
We reset by going to the Home menu.

Where did you get your boxes from and what is the box doing that you are having to reset so often? Are you getting any errors? I very rarely have to reset mine it is not normal to have to reset so often.

We got them from DirectTV. Had them for close to a year. Never had this issue until recently. Now, it just shows “No Network Connection” or something along those lines.
Sometimes it happens when we first turn the tv/box on. Sometimes it happens when we’re in the middle of watching tv. At least 4 times a day.

Have you tried restarting your internet modem/router. You should do that when you are having an issue. If that doesn't fix it---and restarting your box doesn't----then do a red button reset. The red button is on the side of the box.

I have been having similar issues. Had one box replaced as I thought it was only one, but two others also had the same issues. Been stable for about two days now.

I’ve reset the wireless, router, etc. I work from home and the internet doesn’t cut out on me. That’s why I think the issue is with the boxes

Are you connecting the boxes to internet via Wifi or ethernet cable? I've seen this issue also. But only a couple of times in the last 6 months. I use an ethernet cable for my box.

Only boxes connected to wifi. Over Ethernet there has been no problem.

I read somewhere in the past if you use special characters for your wifi password like @#$%^& --it causes a glitch. If you are having problems staying connected to wifi try a password with numbers and letters. That's how I do it and never an issue with wifi.
Also--if you can't connect the box via ethernet--try a wifi extender. They have ethernet ports. This will bypass the issue with the box connecting/staying connected to wifi. You can buy ones that plug into your power outlets for 20 bucks on amazon.

My Wifi password is only letters and numbers, so that rules that one out for this current issue.

Go with a Roku or Fire Stick streaming device.

We have had similar issues for about a month!! Started with DIRECTV Stream back in April…no problems until beginning of December. We have 6 boxes…3 are not used very often, main tv in living area, office and master bedroom TVs used often. We have been restarting every day!! Talked with customer service, they suggested increasing our internet power…increased to 500/500, no change. Recently had 6 new replacement boxes shipped. I was watching a recorded show with one of the replacement boxes, paused for about 15 minutes and when I went back to watching had the obnoxious red blinking light!!! Not interested in using an Ethernet cable!! Any other ideas?? May have to go back to Roku…:/

We got three new Direct TV stream boxes, new Wi-Fi router and Wi-Fi extender from att in January 2023. Installed everything which was working perfect until the last two weeks. Now have to reset all of the boxes daily multiple times. Not very happy with ATT

We received 3 new boxes, new Wi-Fi router, and ATT Wi-Fi extender for the box in the master bedroom in the beginning of January 2023. Installed upon receipt and all worked great using Wi-Fi connection until the last week. Now having to reset each box multiple times a day. Not very happy ATT customer.

Why are you having to reset? More information needed. What has changed, etc?
