Watching live tv
I accidentally switched my service to just streaming and cannot figure out how I can just turn the tv on and watch my regular shows. I can’t find a customer service number that will let me speak to a real person. I can’t figure out how to access my “unlimited dvr” shows that I have scheduled. I just want to be able to watch the news in the morning. I already pay for Netflix, Hulu, appleTV, Paramount Plus, etc. I am so lost and confused. I need help!

Ok, I finally reached an actual person and they re-booted things on their end and now everything is back to normal. Thank you so very much for your assistance!!!!

I don’t know that I have one. They didn’t send me anything new with my change in service. I have a thin black box that I got nearly 3 years ago. I tried to attach a photo of the box but it was too large. The model # is C71KW-400.

The C71K is indeed a DirecTV Stream box. But you said you changed your service. What was it before? How old is that box? What do you mean "accidentally switched to just streaming"?

Your C71KW-400 is your streaming device. When you turn it on do you get any error messages? What happens?

I called to see if I could lower my monthly bill. I have had the service/box for nearly 3 years. She told me I could lower my bill like $50 if I switched to the “Ultimate” package that included 140 channels plus unlimited DVR. I assumed that included my regular local stations. I don’t remember her mentioning that anything but my channels and price were going to change but now when I turn on the tv it says that I can’t watch that channel. On my inputs, the only ones are now “live tv” with a picture of an antenna and hdmi 1 says Apple. I don’t know why it’s showing that because I don’t have a stick or box or anything attached to the tv in the living room. I have an AppleTV device on my bedroom tv.

It shows “No Internet Connection” but when I click on run diagnostics, it says my internet is strong. Then it switches to the message that says I need to upgrade my subscription.

If you go onto Directv.com are you able to watch your locals and stream anything?

Actually I just tried it on my phone and it listed my shows that I have recorded but when I click on to watch then it says that it’s not available and I need to upgrade my service.

I don't think we are going to be able to help you with this issue. I think you will need to talk with customer service to get this resolved since you are not able to watch on your phone either. The best way to get help is to call the customer service number listed at the bottom of my posts and then say cancel to the bot as this will take you to the loyalty/retention department these customer service reps are more knowledgeable and should be able to help resolve your streaming issue.
