Sick of Bots & No Service During Off-Hours

Have companies gotten lazy or what? People watch TV during all kinds of hours and it isn't fair that support isn't 24 hours a day. For all the money DirecTV Streaming charges, they can afford to put support back where it was before they had the pandemic excuse. Stop short-changing Americans who are paying probably more than anybody. Turning our 1st world products into 3rd world support. This just stinks to high heaven and stop policing language people use when they're upset. I'm not a child and businesses have gotten ridiculous about that subject. Something is wrong with this Poly Anna insanity. Stop being greedy, American businesses. We know what you're doing. I'm not talking to a stupid BOT that can't understand anything slightly complex. AI, my butt.

I get this email saying something about a review I don't even remember making. It pointed to nowhere. DirecTV is only showing a few reviews and mine isn't one of them. Then DirecTV or ATT munches my password and makes me change it. This inconvenience is baloney and how much you bet they created this Forum just to watch us complain and do nothing? That's the nature of these things. They want to work with me for what? Without being able to see my review, I have no idea what they're talking about.

Nobody's got time for all this nonsense created by bad web development practices and no support when I need support. I don't want to deal with untrained people from India, either. I'm not racist ... I'm American and that is a different culture with a different mindset. They don't care about us (M.J.).

...and nothing is going to change. If you need 24X7 support, then you should seek another service.

Pay TV is luxury entertainment, not a requirement of life or critical service. So nothing lazy about it. They are for profit businesses so set their hours accordingly. Unless you work in the company overseeing budget, finances, etc. than claiming what they can afford is not fact but your opinion/wishful thinking.

Yes since the pandemic outsourcing has increased. Call centers are not known for being setup for social distancing (in fact some think of them as a petri dish as bugs just get passed around, and with the stress of working a call center, a lot of people don't want to return to that environment. So short staffing of in-house trained agents has continued.

The nature of a business is to be greedy. Their priority is to make money, turn a profit, pay out a wage and revenue that makes their employees and stockholders happy. If you refuse to talk to a "bot" (the interactive voice prompt) than you will never call support. You have to at least speak to it so you can be sorted to the correct department.

This forum is for consumers helping each other out. It is not customer support itself. Though they have an official 'help' team, they are a bit limited in what they can do and being a small group cannot answer everybody.

I don't care where they are from, but I do want them to be properly trained. Hopefully as the dust settles from DirecTV and DIRECTV STREAM spinning off to their own company again that this will improve. However, regardless of in-country or not (or even fresh to country or maybe 1st/2nd generation in), they don't care about us any more than any other customer. They are employees of a business, they are not our friends or family.

Bottom line, you either call support during their business hours and deal with the voice prompt to at least get the right group of agents or create a thread in the forum of the actual issue to get help from other customers.

If you are having an issue you can always post your issue here and we can try to help you in any way that we can.  But we are very limited in the amount of help we can give you as we have no account access.

@KingRay57

If you want help then post about the issue you are calling customer support for in the first place. Complaints about an entertainment service not sitting by for you 24/7 will go nowhere.

We have different experiences, but my points remain valid. And certainly not some young kid just entering the consumer world.
