HOW...DO...YOU...CANCEL...DIRECTV STREAM...SERVICE? Because nobody at ATT seems to know...

My wife and I briefly considered trying to switch from Xfinity over to DirecTV to save some money.  Biggest mistake we ever made.  DirecTV is a horrible product and the customer is even worse.  We had the receiver boxes hooked up for four days and we couldn't log in to finish the setup screens.  I have never seen a more disorganized, disjointed, confusing way to set up online accounts in my entire life.

But that's a whole separate issue.

We already got charged for our first month of DirecTV Stream and we've not even using the service!

To any DirecTV or ATT rep. who reads this, I have one simple question.

HOW...DO...YOU...CANCEL...DIRECTV...STREAM...SO...YOU...DON'T...GET...BILLED...FOR...IT...ANY...MORE???

I had to word it that way because my wife and I called about six different reps. over the phone and not one of them could do it.  They all had to elevate the problem to a supervisor, who they always promise will call back.  They never called back once.  Not once.  Not once.  Apparently getting DirecTV Steam removed from your ATT account so you don't get charged for it any more is a huge mystery that note even ATT or DirecTV know how to do. Yet somehow they were very easily able to begin charging us for the service.  That didn't require any phone calls or supervisors.  FUNNY that!

So please...we want to cancel DirecTV, we don't want it.  What number do we call?  Who are we supposed to talk to?  HELP US!!!

Do you have DirecTV (satellite service) or DIRECTV STREAM (streaming-only)? They are two different providers.

Remember DIRECTV STREAM (the new name of AT&T TV NOW) and DirecTV (satellite TV) are two separate providers that have no influence on each other. So be careful you don't mix up the names otherwise responses to posts can get confusing.

At this time access has been changing. AT&T has joined with a new co-owner, that is now heading the DIRECTV STREAM and DirecTV providers. Hiccups with the transition are expected, but hope overall it goes a lot smoother (and quicker) than when AT&T originally acquired DirecTV.

We are having HD problems here on the east coast.  So I switched to Streaming.  When I want to stop streaming and return to the dish.  Is there something I need to do to go back to the satellite?  I don't want to cancel anything.  Forgive me, I'm new at this>

@Lothian

You're a satellite customer affected by the current issue with one of DirecTV's satellites. Your equipment will switch back to the satellite channel when it's working again. You don't need to do anything special.
