Direct tv stream cancelling the serrvice

We signed up w direct tv when we started service w AT&T.  We never were told we have to purchase the box.  We were told we can cancel anytime too.  The very first week we had your service you cancelled CBS.   So we have made numerous calls and a chat box for 3 weeks.  We got the bill and paid it.  I finally spoke to a direct tv person who said that we had to pay for the box.  Should would not cancel our service.

You do not need to purchase a box to use your Directv streaming service.  You can use a Roku device or a Firestick, etc...  But if you signed up for service and received a box prior to April 6th of this month you would need to purchase your equipment.  For a new box, it would have been $120.00 or it would have been broken down to a charge of $5.00 a month for 2 years.  As for them canceling CBS that must be a local contract dispute with your local CBS station as I am receiving CBS just fine. Also, you can cancel at any time but you would need to call the customer service number, you will find the # at the bottom of my post.  When you call you would tell the bot you want to cancel your service.  You would then be transferred to the retention department.
