Using the Ethernet port on the reciever for internet output

I have three receivers. I'm feeding all of them internet via a deca adapter. I have noticed an Ethernet connector on the receivers. Is is possible to feed Internet the receiver it gets via the coax to a WiFi access point or switch so other devices nearby can use it's Internet connection?

DirecTV only connects to internet for On Demand, ordering PPVs by remote, and anonymous viewing data. It does not share internet access outside that or to non-DirecTV devices.

Before Whole Home DVR, each HDDVR had to be connected individually. Now one box serves the connection to all. Though if you have a separate box, such as in an RV, detached garage, etc. on a separate dish than that box needs its own connection as is not connected to the Whole Home DVR of the others.

If they are HR24s then definitely no as connecting an Ethernet cable to them disconnects the DECA circuits.  DTV receivers are not made to be used as net switches.

It's a fair question, though, as the U-verse TV receivers will bridge IP traffic between Coax (HPNA) and Ethernet.
