TV shuts off after turning on the receiver and TV using the remote.

TV shuts off after a few seconds when turning the receiver and TV with the remote. I have to do this a few times before TV will stay on.

DVR/Receiver model number?

How is the DVR/Receiver connected to your TV?

When did the problem start?

I am having the same issue with two (2) of my TV's.  I have Three (3) TV's total.  Two of them are Vizio TV's and they are the ones that will shut off after turning them on.  The third one is a TCL.  It has never done that.

The remote blinks Red/Blue at the same time for a couple times.  When I hit the power off or power on buttons, they will blink again.

The TV's will come on and will be on a station.  Soon after, the TV goes blank and doesn't come back.  I have to turn the DirecTV Box off and make sure the power light on the TV goes off too.  Then I turn it back on.  Most of the time, when I power on again, it comes on and stays on.

I cannot figure out what it is with the Vizio's that is causing the issue.  DirecTV replaced my Gemini boxes too.  So, I can't say that is the issue.

Any advice or experience would be really helpful.  Thank you.

The red light is showing that it is sending IR to control the TV, the blue light is showing that it is sending Bluetooth to control the Gemini.  Could be the remote is sending the command to many times that is toggling the TVs  on/off.  I don't know if there is a way to change how many time the command is sent.

Thank you Shannon02.  I wonder if RE-SYNCing the remote will help?  I think to do that, I would hold the ( - & app) buttons down until the flash a solid color, I think.  Once that is done, I think you reset the remote by pressing the ( << & >>) buttons again.  I can check on that.   It is so frustrating that I have actually considered dropping DirecTV and getting some other service.  This is the first time I have ever experienced this.  It also seems unacceptable as well.
