TV shuts off after exactly 15 minutes...
TV shuts off after exactly 15 minutes, but it only happens when watching directv. Does not happen if watching appleTV through the same AV receiver as directv or if streaming directly through TV. I've checked auto off/sleep timeres etc.

Marking this is solved but not sure what fixed it. The last 2 things I tried were turning off HDMI-CEC and changing the Auto-Off on the TV from "no setting" to 8 hours. Fifteen minutes was not a setting. Also, when it goes into Auto-Off shut down it gives you a countdown which it did not do on the 15 minutes shut off.

DirecTV DVR/Receiver model number?
TV brand/model number?
How are the DirecTV, TV and AV Receiver connected?

I know its a Genie system but will get model number shortly.
TV is Samsung. Will get model number shortly.
Directv and Apple TV are connected via HDMI to AV receiver and then HDMI from AVR to TV.
Apple TV works just fine. Streaming directly to TV works fine. If I try Directv it turns TV off after exactly 15 minutes. Can still hear directv audio thru AVR. See red light at bottom of TV so TV still getting power. Can turn TV back on and it will shut off again at exactly 15 minutes.
I will have model numbers posted in a couple hours when i am back home.

Also I thought maybe the APC Battery Backup might have been going bad so I removed it and plugged the tv in to another plug but it did the same thing again.

Very strange, since you are still getting audio it appears the HR54 is still on.

HR54 definitely stays on. I’m thinking it’s something gone haywire with URC remote programming that’s only glitching when DIRECTV is selected. Going to disconnect URC and see what happens. Guess I’m lucky it’s only 15 minutes and not 60 lol.

Unplugged URC controller and same results. Tv shuts off in exactly 15 minutes. Not sure what else to try.

AFAIK there is nothing the HR54 can do to turn off the TV other then HDMI-CEC. Then the problem is what is causing it to turn off the TV after 15 minutes? There is only the power saver mode that returns the receiver to standby mode after 4 hours of non remote use.

It seems that the tv is not recognizing a “signal” from the DIRECTV input and is shutting off the tv off due no signal. No idea why this just started happening after 3+ years or why it doesn’t happen when Apple TV is selected from AVR. Guess I’ll try a factory reset on the tv next.

I suspect a big part of the fix was turning of HDMI-CEC. That and 'smart' power strips don't always play well with DirecTV equipment in the mix.
Glad it is working and hope it stays that way.
