What's the exact message?
"SWM" refers to the dish's power supply. Perhaps it has become unplugged? What DVR/Receiver model numbers do you have? When did the problem start?

The SWM light is on. But message is saying no swm detected. I didn't disconnect SWM. I just adjusted dish.

Perhaps a loose or corroded coax cable connection at the dish? Might be time for a service call.

@Juniper
Yes, correct. On older Hx2x Receivers and below the date is automatically set to 12/31 when restarted without a satellite connection. I believe this issue was fixed with newer Genie Receivers, as they now store the time internally and don't require a satellite connection at all times for the correct time.
