Standard Definition Didh

I have a standard definition dish for my RV that I occasionally use with a standard definition receiver and tv.  I last used it in November and it worked fine.

When I just tried to use it it says "System update needed - it has been 345 days out of date"

Can I not use the standard definition dish anymore? I only use it occasionally so I am hoping not to have to buy new equipment.

I tried the receiver on my home system and it works fine.

Any suggestions on what I could try?

What Receiver model number?

DirecTV has discontinued support for the old SD dish and equipment. You'll need to upgrade your RV dish to a DirecTV Slimline or Winegard Trav'ler HD dish.

AFAIK the 101 sat will continue to broadcast the nationwide channels in MPEG4 so you need a MPEG4 HD receiver but local channels will no longer be carried on the 101.

Yes. You'll need to replace the D12 SD Receiver with an HD Receiver. You'll receive whatever channels are still beamed from the 101ºW satellite. But that's all.

That is also what was meant by the system upgrade needed and the days is probably when they shut down the MPEG2 channels in you area.
