Soundbar and apple tv will not work with new Gemini receiver

Tech installed new gemini equipment in my house today. My living room tv has a Sony soundbar and apple tv connected to it. He can get the tv to work but cannot change inputs for apple tv and the soundbar has no sound coming out of it. They are both connected thru HDMI cables to tv. Everything worked perfectly with Genie 1 until the Gemini was connected. About to call Direct tv to take out all the Gemini equipment and go back to Genie. Also headphones connected by optical cable in another room no longer work.
