samsung remote turns off direct

i have a directv box connected to samsung tv by hdmi.  I have other tvs connected by the rca jacks.  when I turn off the samsung tv by the samsung remote the rca jacks no longer transmit.  I have to keep the tv connected by hdmi on to watch in the other rooms.  any help is appreciated.

Right, that is the HDCP doing its job, whenever the HDMI handshake is broken the DTV receiver has to cut off all the audio/video outputs.  Some have added a powered HDCP compatible HDMI splitter to trick it or HDMI control on the Samsung is turning off the DTV receiver.

Then you need to leave the TV on or get a powered HDCP compliant HDMI splitter.

Or DTV could give the option to turn off CEC / HDMI control. You can do this on the Genie Mini, but not the Gemini. It's not always the best option for all.

Did you go into your Samsung settings and turn off CEC there to see if that helps? Of course if you want the DTV system to turn on when you turn on the Samsung, you are clearly stuck.
