When pairing the remote and telling DTV Settings?remote Control I have a Hisence TV it won't recognize my model#. So I state that I don't know my model # and I run through all 20 codes available but none of them will change the volume on the TV.

@rqallen
What receiver model and remote model are you using? The remote model starts with RC and is shown at the top left of the remote.

I'm new to the forum so I placed that info in the "title of my post but I guess it doesn't show to others. I have the RC73 that was being used successfully with a Vizio TV. I just replaced the Vizio with the Hisense58U6HF (Fire TV).

No PM needed.
@rqallen Can you also please attach the receiver model? Thanks. I want to ensure that the RC73 is the proper remote to use with the receiver for pairing.

Certainly. It is a C61K-700 connected wirelessly to a Genie II (HS17). Thanks.

The C61K is wired only.

My mistake. I used to have a wireless C41 in that room but I upgraded to a 4K TV about a year ago and at the time DTV didn't offer a wireless client so they wired in the C61. I'd forgotten that. Sorry for the misinformation.

Thank you for this information. Please follow the next steps:
- Make sure the Genie Remote has RF enabled.
From the remote, select Menu > Settings > Remote Control > Pair/Program Remote > Program TV.
- An OSD asks you to confirm the code works by pressing VOL+.
- Once the TV is successfully programmed, you may program an audio device, if desired. Gloria, DIRECTV Community Specialist.

Being new at this forum I'm sure I didn't describe my issue clearly in my original post, but I tried to do so. My problem is that when doing exctly what you describe, here is what happened after verifing that I was in RF mode. 1) I never saw the "Code Transmission Failed" message you describe. 2) my Model# 58U6HF, isn't recognized so I selected "Model # not listed." 3) I then proceeded to step through all 20 seperate codes which did NOT change the volume so the remote which had been paired the same way successfuly with the previous TV (Vizeo) did not pair with the new Hisense 58U6HF TV. I did discover that I have to pair the remote to the TV BEFORE I do the soundbar because evry time I retried the TV pairing it erased my soundbar pairing. What I think I need is the 5-digit code for a RC73 to pair with the Hisense 58U6HF,
