In most cases you unplug the HDMI cable from the old TV and plug it into the new TV, then change the TV source/input to the one you used then reprogram the DTV remote to the new TV.

Put in new TV.
Connect DirecTV box to TV by HDMI.
Using TV's remote change input to the correct one (HDMI-1, HDMI-2, etc.)
Program DirecTV remote to new TV.
Remotes RC6X and newer RC7X series are done differently.
If you have made a significant change in TV, such as an older SD-only model to an HDTV, then you may need to update a couple settings in the DirecTV box (such as resolution) so it best matches.

To Replace tvs on your Directv system Disconnect older tv from Directv Receiver and Connect new tv to Receiver using HDMI Cable. Switch input source on your new tv to correct HDMI input (HDMI I or HDMI II) on Receiver. Lastly, you'll probably need to Reprogram your Directv Remote to your new TV.
