Remote

I just learned that only 1 remote works with 1 tv.  I want to connect 4 direct tv remotes.  Any work around?

I have a Genie mini, and 4 remotes paired, each running a different TV.

What model client/box are you using? That will help give you an answer for your specific hardware.

Believe me I have called official Directv support.

Be aware that you can only use a single remote per tv set.  Let me repeat, you can only use one remote per tv.  Xfinite allows unlimited number of remotes per tv.  Let me give you a common scenario.  Your wife and you are watching a program together.  She has the remote. It comes to a commercial and you notice she is not fast forwarding.  You realize she is asleep.  You go over to her and do not find the remote.  YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE CHANNEL OR FAST FORWARD UNITL THAT SINGE REMOTE IS FOUND. Really (Edited per community guidelines).  I have asked the community for a work around with no answers.  I am also looking at getting another streaming service.

That is great, but I want to have a 65" Sony TV and want to use multiple Directv remotes.  What do you do when you can not find your remote?

OK, so it would help to know what dtv model you are using.

I'm using a Gemini. I have 2 RC remotes paired to the same tv/gemini (they use bluetooth)... (RC82)

channel changing is done through the DTV box, not the TV. I use a Denon Receiver.

Both remotes change channels, adjust and mute volume, etc.

Again, what do you have?

All DTV remotes are preprogrammed to the receivers in IR so you can have as many as you want, with RC7X remotes one is programed in RF to control the TV, the rest are left in IR to control the FF/REW, channels unless there is no LOS.
