Remote code for TCL 65S431 Roku TV

Replying to myself. Tried all the Westinghouse codes. I wanted to get this RC66RX working on my Genie. Don't think it is going to. I have a RC73 that does recognize my TCL TV. It is aging with flakey buttons. I miss the device slider and input buttons, so I wanted to go backwards to a more real universal remote. Oh well. Progress isn't always all forward. The RF is nice.

Found a RC73 on Amazon for $7 and free shipping. Probably come on a slow boat from China.

All I really care about is volume. Input would be second. Grabbing another control for everything else is fine.

Hard to believe there isn't a code already that would do that.

There probably is one, TCL has TVs from many manufacturers. But until someone finds a code set we are stuck.

I'm certain there is too. 

Someone from ATT knows it since it works with the RC73 but they can't be bothered to even add TCL as a TV to the choices for the older controls.

Not surprising. Constantly adding devices. This is a new one. Big job. Someday, maybe.

I do appreciate getting replies from Directv people, but I know how to work the remote that came with it. Telling me to use it or how to use it is not helpful. It just clogs up the thread.

I just wanted to see if someone new a code to make my Directv remote work the volume on the TV. 

Just to be clear for others reading this, the newer Directv remote RC73 does have a selection for my TCL Roku TV and it DOES work. It is also VERY likely, if not certain, that there is a code that works for the older "full size" Directv remote versions like my RC66RX.

Still hoping someone will post a working code. Or even better, the ATT folks that put the selection in the new control choices can add it to the older remote-control choices, so we don't have to use this forum and internet searches. The older control choices don't even include TCL. At a minimum, they could add it to this

HaHa. OK. I’ve heard from 4 different “Directv Community Specialists”. A level of support not seen before. I’m impressed.

However, I’m not sure you folks even understood my very simple inquiry. A response I would have liked, “We are referring your request for a code to the appropriate personnel. Until there is a response, you may have to use the Directv newer remote or the separate remote that came with your TV. Thank you for your inquiry. We are always trying to keep up with the growing number of TVs out there.”

Still hoping someone in “the community” will come up with a code !!

I have same tcl model 65s431

and also looking for code

seems to me i once had an RC66RX working for volume and all the tv  controls on this model but programmed over it and cannot find again

may have used another tv brand like sceptre that worked both ?  

I have another tcl 55 and 65 roku diff models and neither of those work this  newer 65 model i  have now - anxious to find a solution too

hate the peanut version remote (changes channels too easily by accident and i lose my DVR rewind function once that happens …

i will report in if i find a code

actually goofing w four of my old remotes now

If I need something besides volume and input, I grab the remote that came with it.
