Started two weeks ago. Restarted/reset (not a full to "new" status) on both the satellite genie and principle DVR. Also restarted both by unplugging. Erased recorded programs but duplication returned on CNN, Food channel, PBS. Very slow responses. Recording list at 75-80% so not anywhere near capacity. Very strange bug.
Verify coax is finger tight to each box. Unplug from power from all of them. After a couple minutes plug power back into Genie (HR54R1). Once full back on receiving programming then one at a time do the same for each Mini Genie Client.
The specific order can matter as the Genie is the brain for the Clients as provides them their programming and is where all your recordings are saved (unless you have other dedicated HDDVRs as well). This should not erase anything already recorded, but will dump guide data so has to get that again from the satellite.
Check that those "duplicates" are the exact same channel number, in case you have the satellite channel and On Demand channel for the network both recording. Also see if perhaps only one of the two says "HD", in case it is getting both the SD and HD versions of a channel.

What troubleshooting have you tried so far? Reset the DVR?
What recordings duplicated?
