Record Series on Unavailable Channel
I have a series recording set up for my favorite NBA basketball team. The DVR tries to record it on a channel that I do not receive. I contacted technical support and they said my DVR was bad and needed to be replaced (for $180 or sign up for the warranty package). I do not believe this will solve my problem. Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone been able to resolve it?

Private Message/Direct Message (PM/DM) icon (text/speech bubble) is located in the upper right between the notification icon (bell) and "directv.com". We'll send you a DM to discuss your concern. Christian, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Replacement of defective receivers is free you only pay $20 for shipping.
Use the guide to find your team and press the record button twice.

Receiver replacement is free with or without the protection plan, without the protection plan you have to pay for shipping $19.95 definitely not $180.00 and just because it's recording on a non authorized channel doesn't mean it needs replaced. If you set the recording up via a search this is what can happen, serlt it up from the guide not a search
